Past projects

(K.M.) Interreg
As a leader and a part of the team we participated in implementation of many cross-border projects bringing a better life to people living in regions or solving the bottlenecks of the border regions between Slovakia and neighboring countries such as Hungary, Austria, Czechia, Poland, Ukraine and Romania. We funded projects in the field of culture, research, innovation, SMEs, environment, gender equality issues, sustainable transport, health, social care, education, tourism, disaster prevention and People to People actions.

(M.Cs.) WOMEN ON WORKMARKET
The goal of the WOWIT project is to empower women and other disadvantaged ethnic groups to create value in the labor market with equal opportunities. All over the world, it is much more difficult for women to find work than for men. When women are employed, they tend to work in low-quality jobs in vulnerable conditions, and there will be little improvement in the near future. WoWIT gets the inclusive techniques behind the trends and reports on removing the barriers that prevent women from decent work. In cooperation with Futureg. Co-financed by Erasmus+

(M.S.) Slovaks understand the EU content
Directives and regulations of the European Commission affect the lives of millions of Europeans. As an official partner and supplier for the EU-DGT, we have collaborated on the translations of thousands of documents into Slovak. Thanks to this cooperation, all citizens of the Slovak Republic can read and understand various EU policies such as ecological agriculture, the maintenance of our personal sensitive data by the private sector or the possibilities to travel across Europe without a passport and visas.

(M.Cs.) V4 Leadership for Horizon Europe—Telemedicine
The aim of the project was to initiate cooperation network in order to identify the possibility of common research activities in the future and increase the competitiveness of scientific institutions from the V4 countries. Thanks to the project it was possible to create an expert cooperation network, which aims to develop project plans for international projects in the field of telemedicine: cardiology, neuroscience, population diseases, and technology. Co-financed by Visegrad Fund.

(M.S.) ‘Do you need a doctor?’ – ‘Boil water for safe drinking.’
Basic phrases that can change and save lives in a humanitarian emergency. Yet often communication fails because humanitarian aid workers and the people affected do not speak the same language. As member of non-profit organization Translators without borders we participated in various projects.

(K.M.) Rural Development Programme
Katka as a leader participated in Rural Development Programme in Slovakia. Strategic Plan 2023-2027 for Common Agriculture Policy was setup. This supports SMEs, farmers, holdings in agriculture, forestry, food processing; investments in blue and green infrastructure, in renewable energy and energy saving solutions, bioeconomy, rural development, social innovations in municipalities, climate change mitigation and adaptation solutions.

(M.Cs.) Climate-Adapt-Forest (Role a management opomínjených typu sídelní zeleně pro udržitelný rozvoj sídel v době klimatické zmeny)
The Aim of the project is to identify and evaluate the impacts of climate change affecting functioning of forests, including their storage capacity, and to develop adaptation measures for forest managers in the Slovak-Czech border area. Within the project a cross-border forest monitoring system including an early warning system will be established response to risks associated with climate change. The system will be implemented in border forests along the Slovak-Czech border on both sides. Co-financed by Interreg Slovensko – Česko.

(M.S.) Türkiye – Slovakya
As part of the research group within the Department of World History at Comenius University, we have contributed to the foundational research on the relations between the Habsburgs and the Ottoman sultans. The results of the research in the form of studies and other publications still serve today as fundamental source for all who are or plan to be active in the scientific or cultural field and develop Slovak – Turkish relations.
